Carolyn Douberly Jeffcoat

Carolyn Douberly Jeffcoat, 93, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Shadow Moss Plantation. She was born in Savannah, daughter of Harry O. and Ola Smith Douberly. Mrs. Jeffcoat was a graduate of Commercial High School and was retired from Friedman Jewelers as a bookkeeper after 45 years of service. She was a member of Ardsley Park Baptist Church and was the Past High Priestess of Palestine Chapter No. 249 Order of the Eastern Star serving from 2002-2003 and a member of the Ladies Oriental Shrine.
Surviving are sister, Mildred Douberly Brown of Savannah; nieces and nephews, Gerald Douberly of Meldrim, GA; Richard Douberly and his wife, Andrea of Savannah, GA; Robert Douberly of Baxley, GA; Daniel Brown and his wife, Donna of Augusta, GA; Kenneth Douberly of Atlanta, GA; Gloria Gilliam of Colorado; Karen Spence of Savannah, GA; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors with her nephew, The Reverend Daniel A. Brown officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Gerald Douberly, Robert Douberly, Christopher Brown, Glen Smith and honorary pallbearer will be Richard Douberly.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thank you to Glen Smith for his loving devotion and friendship and to the staff of Shadow Moss Plantation and Gentive Hospice for the care, kindness and love extended to their Aunt Carolyn.
